Aroma: petrol, cream, almond blossom, wet stone. Palate: hazelnuts, white peach, lime, a touch of minerals. Crisp and focused. Complex and good value. Drinkable now.

Some blind wines (Chicago, IL): Served single blind. Quite reductive on the nose at first. Shows a gentle touch of green herbs, and it's clear from the light mineral body that this is probably a dry German or Austrian wine. This doesn't have as much heat as I normally pick up in dry riesling, so I guessed correctly that this was my bottle of Grüner. Pretty nice, in all honesty. I liked the crisp minerality here.

Blinds at Californios - 7 (non-blind - captaining) (Californios SF): Light and floral. Underripe white peach. Structurally classic Federspiel gruner (m body, m alc 12%, m+ acid) except there’s really no phenolic bitterness. At the same time there’s not much melon or radish/romanesco (maybe they didn’t have much skin contact, resulting in lower aromatics and also lower bitterness?)
This was tough to get, a few people guessed Chablis.

Christmas Day Dinner 2015 at Table At 7 (Table at 7): Note from memory. Screw-cap. Pop and poured. Drank over 2 hours. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of citrus lemon, ripe honeyed peaches, sweet spice, stony minerality in the background. Youthful. On the palate, dry (but the ripe honeyed fruit makes it seems almost off-dry), crisp high acidity, medium alcohol, medium+ body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon, ripe honeyed peaches, sweet spice, and stony minerality struggling to show in the background. Long finish. Very good quality ripe fruity Gruner Veltliner with good intensity and long clean finish. Drink young and enjoy.

Vinosphere Tasting: Perfumed, lifted nose - lychee, spice and musk. Carries well on the palate, good balance and length.
