Very spicy but with a long finish. Still going strong with mixed black and red fruit flavors. Need a good sharp cheese to blend in but overall not too bad.

I was afraid we were waiting too long to open this magnum and on 12/31/06 I was proven right. This zin just did not show well. Very atypical of St Francis zins so I chalk this up to age. The wine was stored in our temp controlled unit so storage conditions were not an issue. Upon decanting I noticed the wine appeared a bit more filled with sentiment than usual. On the palate the wine was very flabby, all alcoholic sweetness with some vanilla from the oak. No tannin at all nor any of the fresh fruit or spice of a good zin. Bummer.
