  • Bright yellow-golden color, and nose of lychee and stone fruit, with a bit of a floral quality— would have maybe guessed riesling. This is a pretty rich wine for a federspiel, with deep fruit and a finish of white pepper. The four+ years of age on this are apparent (in a good way)-- doesn't seem like it will go that long; very enjoyable right now, though.

  • Beautiful golden colour.
Rich and intense aromas of lemon, lemon zest, white pepper and bitter herbs . Mediumbodied, with a touch of fizz, I reckon this wine is still young. Fruity and intense on the palate with notes of grapefruit and zest- a bit like biting in to an unpeeled grapefruit- this wine will evolve for the better for at least 3 years- in my opinion. Good, but will get better! 87 p.

    Light golden colour.
Smoother and sleeker now, but still with a fair amount of rich yellow stonefruit, lemon zest and a tone of tropical fruit (lychee fruit, yes). The whitepeppar in the finish is prominent at first, but it wears off and a mineral note takes over with the hours passing by. In a good spot now, mature but still fresh - but I wouldn't wait any longer. 87-88 p.

  • Was it a lack of aeration, was it the modest quality of the vintage, but I missed the real purity in this wine.

  • I don't get this style of wine and why it's so popular? The wine is not poorly made but stylistically it's quite big and bold (high alcohol?) which makes me feel like I'm needing to chew my way through it. Not my idea of enjoyment when having a glass of wine and the richness becomes overbearing.

  • Clear medium intensity golden color. Clean nose of white pepper and radish. Lime on the palate. No oak. Medium+ acidity, medium- body, dry (but not bone dry), medium finish.
