Popped and poured. Color straw. Nose shows chalky citrus aromas with floral notes. On palate this is rich with considerable acidity, but the acid is soft and supports a medium long creamy finish. Really a delicious gruner.

Nose: Clean . Med intensity - youthful/developing - aromas of pear, melon and lime. Palate: Dry - Med plus acidity - Med body - Med flavour intensity and Med plus length. Aromas of pear, melon ant the classic white pepper often found in Grüner Veltliner. What I like about the taste is that it is clean and precise. A good wine that is well balanced. Ready to drink, but can keep.

Sunday Evening (My House, Denver, CO): First try of the '07 (had a half case of the '05). This was similar, but crisper and lighter on its feet. Expressive nose of apples, pears, flowers and an strong ribbon of mineral/stones that prickles a bit (bubbles?). Palate has light fruit with a small dose of citrus emerging and crisp acidity that finishes in great balance. Very appealing.

(Franz Hirtzberger Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Rotes Tor, Wachau) This Hirtzberger classic is a return to the green, peppery style of Grüner Veltliner I fell in love with. A middleweight at 12.5% alcohol, it offers notes of freshly chopped herbs—parsley, tarragon, and fennel leaf—along with peach, apricot, white pepper, white flowers, chalky minerality, and a long finish. Hot Picks
