  • San Giusto a Rentennano tasting in Wine Taste Gdansk (Wine Taste Gdansk): 👀 Brilliant cherry red.
👃 Of the three Chianti Classico annata we had this was the perfect version. Open since the beginning of the evening, it had a wonderful nose of herbs, fresh red fruits, iron and balsamicity.
👅 On the palate it's the lghter of the three but still a medium body, very fresh and intense, with smooth tannins and lively acidity.
🏁 Nice long finish to close it up and callng the next sip. Almost at the peak, I would not wat longer than 2028 to pop your bottle.

  • Still a fresh dark crimson; quite powerful and brooding on the nose displaying black licorice, rose petals, a kiss of tar, and baked cherry fruit, very savory, some medicinal red fruit, a chew and wall of acids are powerful, wanting the nose and wine to soften and sweeten but it never came around to that level after 2 days but it also showed resilience not going the other oxidized direction so I’d be apt to hold this longer; the wines from this producer can reach incredible highs but hitting that drinking spot can be a challenge.

  • More acidity and more tannin than the Chiorba, this definitely showed younger. There was tremendous mid-palate density of red fruit that put this on another level. If you can live with some tannin, this is fine to drink now. But I think this is going to improve over the next five years, and will hold together for years after that. World class Chianti Classico.

  • Blackberry, mint, tobacco and leather on the nose. Tart black fruit on the palate along with some cedar. Quite concentrated but at the same time not heavy. Smooth tannins, bags of acidity, medium finish. Drunk over three days with T-bone steak, sausages and pasta in tomato sauce. Really impressive and excellent value for money.

  • Classic Chianti Classico, robust structure but with quite a refined palate of fruit for a Chianti. More black then red fruit, this displays good intensity. Not as dry as some Chiantis but still lacks a certain charm. Persistent and straightforward.
