PNP. Astringent and lean fruit. Hopefully just a bad bottle. Just a faint hint of the usual freshness and blue fruits from here in other years. Some incense and green notes. Even worse the following day. 2 more bottles left. Will try again soon. Fingers crossed.

14.9% alcohol. Drinking very well. If big fruity Pinot Noirs are you style, this is for you. My friends who prefer more restrained Pinots don't love this. More for me!
Our first bottle of this vintage but based on previous experience with this wine this bottle was decanted for 30 minutes, at which point the wine was smoother and more harmonious than at first opening. The color was a clear medium violet. The nose offered up mostly darker red fruits plus some forest floor. The medium to plus bodied palate was dominated by fruit (cranberry, raspberry, black cherry) and spice, along with black tea, earth, and nicely balancing acidity. Will hold to the decade mark and probably beyond. One of my favorite Martinelli Pinots.

Very Burgundian. Certainly fully mature and showing secondary flavor profile, having left behind the heaviness of initial fruit flavors. Drink up.
