  • Still drinking beautifully, though I suspect we’re at peak and heading towards the fade. Pomegranate, and cherry fruit remains, along with a wonderful array of secondary and tertiary characteristics and still-zippy acidity. Worked wonderfully with chicken and mushrooms. Structure alongside elegance. Delightful. Drink by 2025, I’d say.

  • Still young, or at least it needed air and was better on day two.

  • Only 5 months have passed since the prior bottle, but this bottle was more balanced and mature. The fruit was less acidic and rough, and the overall flavor profile was more reminiscent of a dusky Meursault. Delicious

  • Prior bottle was almost 13 months ago and my notes were again quite similar. Nose remains a mixture of red cherry, earth and vanilla notes. Medium bodied and when first opened, the acidity was a bit out of balance, but this settled down with time. Rounded red cherry notes upfront, adding a touch of brightness through the middle, some red raspberry notes and then tart red cherry on the backside. Good density through the middle and the contrast between the more open red fruit and tart red fruit works well. I think this is peak in terms of complexity, depth and balance and the acidity does concern me for coming years. I think the wine should be able to hold this level over at least the next 12-18 months, but as the fruit eventually begins to fade, the acidity will take over. Drink this wine over the next year or so to enjoy this current stage.

  • Superb. Not as feminine as her Scallop Shelf sister but still full of finesse. Mid-weight. Red currants with undertones of sweet cherry and spice. Beautiful finish.
