very nice aged barbaresco... frankly this had nebbiolo typicity in spades (esp noticed the remaining / significant tannin), and the palate packed a punch with great flavors, on the red side for the fruit plus some tar and a touch of smoke... thanks to Joe S for bringing to our Italian dinner

I picked up 6 of these at an auction specifically for a truffle dinner I was invited to, but unable to attend due to illness so I was eager to try this wine.
The color is much lighter than I expected, and is now a light rust color from what I expect was originally a light garnet.
On the nose the wine presents, mushroom, forest floor, raisins, and toffee.
On the palate, the wine is very smooth indeed, and tastes of dark rich fruits including plum and blackberry with a beautiful balance of spice and finishes with a hint of citrus. The tannins are extremely well integrated and the finish is long indeed.
I will enjoy my next 5 bottles!
