Wonderful, nose of cherry and casis. A lighter, cousin of cabernet sauvignon, with a smooth, elegant finish. Food friendly wine, which will go with a wide range of red meats, stews and hearty winter cuisine. Really enjoyable. Alexander Valley Vineyards has been up and down over the years, according to the wine press...but every one of their wines I've tasted has been really enjoyable.

Full bodied, dark purple. Herbal nose followed by herbs on the palate, and a choclately, well-integrated mid-palate. Medium-length finish. Drinking very well right now.

Good but kind of simple. Opened up after an hour and had hints of floral, some tannins, and just put the tiniest bit of hair on my tongue. Should drink well for two or three more years. Worth the money at 13 to 17 dollars.
