Cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, sweet red fruit, floral, baking spices on the finish and elegant. We had this on its own (after deciding it was not right to pair with a duck cassoulet: too sweet for our savory dish).
Great value at $24. Drink now or hold.

Family Winemaker's 27th Annual Tasting San Francisco, I liked this wine slightly better than the 2011 vintage, nose of red and black cherry, more red cherry thought, same on the palate, medium/big body, rich, mouth filling fruit, very tasty, and a long, flavorful finish.

Our first exposure to the relatively new and very small production Sonoma County (Green Valley section of the RRV AVA) Clouds Rest winery wines was at the Customshop restaurant wine dinner in Charlotte NC hosted by the Wine Vault and the vineyard owner. This was the 3rd wine of the night which paired very well with crispy roast duck. Quite good, stylistically more Burgundian then CA and reasonably ageable for at least another 2-3 years although right now in a good drinking window. Given the price point not a particularly good QPR wine. Warm, complex, medium bodied, well balanced with good mouth feel and a short aftertaste. Nose of cherry, raspberry and white pepper with a similar flavor profile of red cherry, raspberry, cooking spices and cinnamon on the late palate. Recommend this wine.
