Stylish but tannic and chewy. In the end an enjoyable but slightly constrained experience. Drunk over 3hrs+
The wine opened darker (colour) than expected and initial tastes were highly prospective but just never quite seemed to fully shine. Had a lovely stylish dryness but the tasting experience was a bit closed.
Hints of cherries and blackberry and dry herbs and leather.
Maybe needs a few more years. Probably had high expectations.

Wine definitely needs a long decant if u are going to drink now but would benefit from several more years in bottle. A lot of residual tannin and acidity that needs to resolve itself .

My second vintage of Madonna delle Grazie after the 2010. Poured into decanter at home and drank over 2h. Fairly dark garnet with translucent rim. Shows a very pretty nose immediately upon opening with fine wood spices and some dark fruit, the palate is not as expressive, chewy, old oak barrels, clearly Sangiovese though, medium (+) tannins which seem to be coming from the barrels as much as from the fruit, medium finish. Closes down further with more air. Style-wise this reminds me of a young Valdicava, not really my favorite Brunello I must admit. Anyway would give it at least another 3-4 years in bottle as this is too tight to be really enjoyed now. A good Brunello with some upside for sure, perhaps in a difficult phase now, but nowhere near the 99 points Monica Larner gave it IMHO. 92+

The wine is thick, bright, slightly tannic, fruity and berry, with a soft plum finish after three hours in the bottle. RP99
酒體厚實,明亮微單寧、富果香莓果味,瓶中醒三小時後,伴隨著輕柔梅子風味,餘韻細緻柔順!RP99

found this a little early to drink - still tannic edges.
