Sourced from the Lewis vineyard planted in 1903. Normally a $60 bottle. Picked at 26.2 brix on September 17th. Aged for 2 years in American oak. 15.6% alcohol. Not decanted. Rich purple color. Spicy black fruit notes with pepper and sweet currant notes. Firm tannins. 87 points.

Decanted and consumed over six hours. Best glass was the last.
Cloudy burgundy in color, full bodied Lots of oak on the nose. Baking spice.Dusty nose as well. Much too much oak on the first glass, but by the last, it had balanced out with the fruit and spices. (Vanilla and cloves) Tannin has largely dissipated. Medium plus finish. I quite liked my last two glasses. Well balanced. Still a very big wine. Quite tasty with spicy chicken wings.

Still drinking very well. Full of fruit, perfect balance of sugar/acids/tannin. Very food friendly.

Ripe black cherry with a very savory, high-alcohol finish. More suitable with bbq than filets.
