Opened this at the winery today to check in on. 2013 blend of mostly Merlot Malbec Cab Sauv. Surprisingly fresh and fruit forward. Plums and cherry with red licorice aromas. Similar palate with slight alcohol coming through with sour cherry and cloves. Impressive for a decade in at this price point. Have a couple of cases at the winery if interested

Nose mainly of dark fruit. Some ripe some baked. Also in there is chocolate and mocha with some baked earth. Palate is dominated by dark fruit but develops over time.

This bottle was fantastic. The previous bottle in 2018 felt a little light and lean. This one felt like a baby Portfolio - patience has finally paid off.

Deep and brooding red colour with medium plus optical density and very high reflectivity. The nose is medium plus intensity, with a straight-forward (yet not simple) array of plum, blueberry, aromatic compounds, and some earthy toasted oak. The palate is rich and full, with refreshing acidity and edgy texture that is supported by firm tannins, with an overall broadness to things. Flavours on the attack are of plum and blueberry, with a slight hollow on the transition to the midpalate, which picks up some depth, showing more fruit (raspberry and blackberry) and some toasted earthy forest. The finish is medium plus in length, with fresh pipe tobacco lingering above warm fruit and a touch of some vanillins. Overall, really nice intensity, freshness, and decent complexity. Shows a nice balance and a delicious profile, with just a slight want of some depth, this is well-made, tastefully oaked, and easy to drink. Certainly a different blend of grapes combines for a unique wine, which still has roots in classic Bordeaux profiles, with new world fruit and modern-leaning bend. Really excellent value wine, this is easily a crowd-pleaser that is more thoughtful than many that aim for that goal. This is in a really great spot, and I would think it is ready to drink now. Nice!

At YEW Seafoods in Vancouver, great spot at Four Seasons. I have little experience with wines from Canada/BC. This one recommended by the waiter.
BDX blend, fruit forward, seems more Merlot driven (not verified). Nose has some herbs mixed with berry. Approachable, good food wine with casual fare. Red fruits, bright cherry, pomagrante.
No experience/comparison for this region so not rating this. Simple but enjoyable
