Ruby, with medium plus intensity, no sign of aging. The nose is clean, medium plus in intensity, with aromas of ripe blackberries, boysenberries, root beer and a little baking spice. The palate is dry, but with lots of ripe berries and cherries. There's a nice balance between the fruit and the medium acidity, tannins and alcohol. The alcohol is high at 14.8%, but does not dominate. Medium plus to full-bodied, without being heavy. Flavor intensity and length are both medium (+). Good by itself, but even better with a spicy meat dish, cheese or meaty pizza. A good value, this is drinking well now but has several years left to go.

Jammy Paso Zin. 90% Zin 10% Petite Sirah. Candied boysenberry, black cherry, a touch of cola, pepper & licorice. Starts on the sweet side, but the licorice and spice emerge with air. The acidity balances out the fruit. Well made. Nice wine at $19. Decent QPR. Will buy again. Drink.

It smells like blackberry, mineral and vanilla. Long finish in the mouth. Lots for fruit
