An IGT Toscana blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Syrah from Maremma vineyards. Medium (+) ruby with some purple hues. The nose is clean, with ripe, red cherries, black fruit, dried herbs, some savory spices and a hint of oak spice. The palate is dry, with medium acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%) and medium tannins. This is a very nicely balanced, international-style blend which appealed to tasting group, probably thanks to the little bit of French barrique finish. It is a very good value in the $13-$16 range. By now the tannins and fruit are well integrated. It is drinking well and should continue to do so for several more years. Gold and <$30 Class Champion at the HLS&R.

Very dark color (Syrah) Smells of berries, and cloves. Slightly peppery. Decent length on the finish. I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice for the price.

Fresh berries and cream, somewhat modern nose. Raspberry palate, feminine, silky. Fairly modern. However, after a long day and several days without wine, this is warming me up nicely right now.

Gouleyant, fruité, intense et un peu de sucré résiduel qui rappelle un Zinfandel
