Kept this one a bit too long...I hate when that happens. It wasn't bad, but the wine is showing its age, still a fruit bomb, but the bang was a little weak. Oh well.

Always reliable and classic zin. The Mayacamas is very rich, an aweful lot of fruit - takes some time to settle. Throwing sediment-no big deal. Drinking well now and I would not keep much longer. I think I like Jerry's lighter zins better, but it's a matter of personal style.

Popped and poured with Thai food of all things. This featured a very high register red fruited attack and a body and finish dominated by raisins and brown sugar - you do the math. Greenblanket has enjoyed the more recent vintages of this wine and he hopes this isn't where his meager holdings are headed.

Deceiving wine and I suspect that its just past its prime, the nose was great and was similar to a well established port with heavy caramel notes, the fruit was a bit light and was not as jammy as i would have suspected, it seemed a bit flat to be honest. mid to high 80s.
