Always a special moment when I get to taste this wine, it has evolved into something quite interesting. There are spicy, cedar notes, fruit isn't fading but rather it's a component, not the star. Really pretty from start to finish. This Zin is one of those that stands out for its unique take on this grape. Wonderful!

Initially a bit closed and restrained. About an hour later the wine truly opened up and it smooth sailing. All rought edges are gone, some spice remains, it is aging gracefully, definitely not your typical over the top zin. Solid. No need to cellar much longer.

(Storybook Mountain Vineyards Zinfandel Napa Estate Mayacamas Range) Elegance is not usually a word associated with Zinfandel, but it defines the wines of Storybook owner-winemaker Jerry Seps, and for good reason: his attention to detail in both the vineyard and the winery can be described only as fanatical. The 2007 Mayacamas Range offers a combination of pure Zin fruit with a structure that’s closer to Right Bank Bordeaux than anything else. Delicious now, but will cellar well over the next 15 years. Hot Picks

Fantastic, well-built Zinfandel with age. In a great place now but has the guts to keep going for a few more years.

Rich cherry flavors with notes of spice. Oak and plum dominate flavors but black cherry is also there. Still holding its own
