Nose of white pepper and blackberries - a fun combination. Palate has currant, woods, violet, cherry. Blotty tannins but they balance really well with the fruit so you don't feel like you're totally sucking on a cotton ball. Opens up and calms down with time in the glass. We didn't decant so who knows - this could only be better in 2 hours but we're not giving it that time.

Ordered by the glass at Jean Georges. It was a pop and pour, wine was closed but one could tell it is a decent wine. It had sufficient body all it needed was some breathing time. Need to re taste

Decanted and it opened up very quickly, almost new world in character with bright extracted red fruit, cherries mostly, and a touch of woodsy flavor. Yes there are some chewy tannins but it is still well put together. A satisfying if atypical Bdx and my favorite wine of the evening. I would definitely buy this if I could find it!
A private lunch (Restaurant Dabbous *, London, UK): A blend of 59% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc, aged for 18 months in barrique, 25% new and 75% "d'un vin". Charming and open nose, fragrant, quite beguiling, with blackcurrants and mulberries, sweet spices, violets and roses, warmth from the oak and mineral depth; the palate is smooth, silky, relaxed and flowing, elegant and fresh in spite of its considerable weight (14.5% ABV), beautifully balanced, with slightly grippy but very finely grained tannins and lovely pure flavours with real lift; unsurprisingly, the finish is still a bit hard, but it will soften with age and the aromatic persistence is very good. Marvellous quality for a third wine, the magic of this exalted terroir really shines through. Tempted to add another point.

Great nose and moderate finish with some pretty middle fruit. Better than some classified growths. Good follow up to some Burgundy.
