Medium garnet in the glass, fading to an orange rim.
Intense aromas out of the glass: ripe red cherry and balsamic soaked strawberry. Rose petal, old oak, Mushroom, forest floor and cola nut. Savory yet fresh and packed with fruit.
Flavors follow the nose, with a long finish of strawberry, cherry cola, and oak.
Mouthfeel is dry, with medium body, medium tannin, and medium plus acidity.
Very solid pinot with the legs to go another fees years if you like.
Still prominent fresh strawberry and rhubabrd with oak shoeing on the nose and palate. Importantly the tannins and acidity are well integrated and make this easy to drink glass after glass.
This bottle wasn't funky and I think represents good value at from the Wine Society.

Opened to double-check quality before The Wine Society's refund policy ends at the end of 2023. One man's barnyard funk is another man's tasty pinot. This is most certainly a cloudy AF pinot. It's starting to turn a rusty garnet colour. Barnyard (manageable levels and nothing surprising to a Sandhi drinker) & red fruit on the nose. On the palate cola, slight perception of pettiance but nothing offensive, mushroom and red fruit. Drink up but no absurd rush.

Acidic barn yard funk in each bottle I tried unfortunately.

Decant for a few hours - this is big and takes time to unfurl. Layered dark fruit with a touch of mushroom
