A few days in Napa with fellow CT'r Cristal2000: Tight, linear, and a bit spicy, the 2013 Teres shows some of the stern hallmarks of the vintage. With air, red and black currants, herbs, unripe raspberries, and dusty earth emerge. Finishes with some rustic tannins that provide more frame upon the frame. I didn’t get the sense it was mad at me necessarily, but it’s got a furrowed brow that reminds me of Earl Lester, my 10th grade Poly Sci./Econ. teacher. Man, I sucked in that class.
Provided that the fruit stomach of this wine is able to claw its way through its own spine, I’d say there is more benefit to be had by holding bottles for another few years. Cristal2000 disagrees with me here, but he is just wrong. So there’s that. :)

ADAMVS Verticals (w/CSIMM1161) (ADAMVS Vineyard and Winery): Nose of rose petals, raspberries, graphite, and fragrant earth. Spicy on the palate with big time mineral driven notes, riding high with good energy and decent length. Juicy fruit with oaky overtones. Lots of savory character. Time to drink up.

Decanted for about 1/2 hour after popping and consumed over the course of a couple of hours. Soft round tannins that provide some dryness on the back, not too much going on with the nose, some dark fruit character coming through, an easy drinking cab that lacks the structure for this price-point. Enjoyable wine but question how much it's going to develop in the future. I have a couple left and will wait at least another year or two before opening the next bottle.

Nose: Dark blue/purple fruit, something like a concentrated cranberry smell, some slight oak/wood and a little hot. After sitting out for around 10 minutes, the heat goes away and it smells like vanilla or soft cream.
P: Dark fruit.. feels concentrated (not the fruit), comes close to almost over extracted and over oaked.. almost.
Dark garnet colored, soft and smooth tannins. Medium bodied. Feels a little unbalanced.. the oak almost stands out too much, the heat is always there, the sour tobacco notes mixed with oak.
