  We cooked up a nice steak, the best crunchy potatoes, and some broccolini, and opened this while cooking. It went down quite fast (we had to open another bottle partway through dinner). I'm partial to their Zins, but Rockpile has quite a bit of cab and other Bordeaux grapes, and this is a blockbuster of that genre. The oak was a little too apparent at the outset, but the wine had good acid, bold but not overripe fruit (a lot of 2012 was overripe or simple, so good on them), and the cabernet is fairly dominant while clearly being a blend. A really good red-meat wine.

  For one who does not prefer Bordeaux style wines this was good. Thanks to Clay and Carrie Mauritson and the team.
