  • This is a very nice wine from a very marginal vintage. Good honeyed flavors with a bit of peach, good acidity, but that "looseness" that seems to characterize 2000 to me, this wine went very well with vegetable stew for dinner and then went well with the homemade strawberry, raspberry, rhubarb pie for dessert. There was a strong impression of sweetness in the wine, but it seemed like the wine had dropped sweetness over the years. It would be interesting to see where this went with a few more years in the bottle but it is drinking very well right now. If I had more I'd probably consume it now.

  • Light gold in colour, with a lovely nose of botrytis, smoke, minerals, pears and pineapples. Well balanced on the palate, with fruit/acid doing a lovely dance on the tongue, and a nice texture. Orange, lime, pears, minerals and slight cherry and herbal notes too.
