As noted below, this is sweet for a Kabinett, but it is a lovely drink and going very strong at six years. Grapefruit meets a Sauternes--very muted acidity which is an interesting surprise. I think this could continue to evolve for a few more years still.

(F. Weins Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett) This was a great Kab. Loads of floral, red fruit aromas with a nice slab of slate thrown in for good measure. Very appley palate with zingy aggresive acids (just like I like 'em) and nectarine flesh. Long finish with a great interplay betwen mineral and red/blue fruits. Wonderful finesse here.

Deep golden. Lovely acidity backing up the sweet yellow fruit. Highly enjoyable on opening, and equally so on the second day.

Precise fruit, creamy texture; lovely wine to drink on a summer day. Cellared since original release.

Surprisingly sweet for a kabinett. Not enough acid here.

Needs time in the bottle. Great acidity with classic fruit character. 2-3 more years
