(F. Weins Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett) Bert Selbach made some incredible '07's and many will fill my cellar. And they are still at reasonable prices. Nose of Christmas spices, stones, a creamy attribute, and a piercing note of key lime that brings it al together. Outrageously complex. Palate is ripe with lovely finesse and raciness due to excellent crisp acids. This is a rich Kabinett no doubt about it. Excellent WS characacter with a creamy mid-palate and utmost finesse.

2007 was a very good kabinett vintage and the Wehlener vineyard normally a source of elegant, lighter Mosels. I was quite disappointed as this wine, while mildly young, is not balanced. The fusel oil element overwhelms, with insufficient acid backbone and a lack of complex floral notes

I bought this wine in 2008. Tonight was my last bottle. It was still drinking well. I drank it with Roast Goose. It went fine with it -- the acidity provided the body to handle the meatiness of the goose. I lovely wine.

This wine continues to drink well. The flavor is deeper and fuller than suggested by my notes from December, 2009. The wine is sweet, fruity and a reasonable acid base. It went very well with sushi
