  • Medium brick in colour, red fruits (cranberry and cherry) and iron on the nose. The medium bodied palate shows earthy cherries, cranberries, iron and violets, with light tannins. Nice acidity lifts and freshens the wine. An elegant but tasty style of cru beaujolais that still seems young (B+).

  • Based on reviews, decanted 30 mins. Served with grilled butterflied lamb, tabouli. Black cherry, iron, mineral nose and palate. Moderate tannin, ok balance. Nose was muted on opening and after decant. Pretty lean. I concur with prior comments using terms like 'lightly structured' and 'tastes like tea'--the latter more for the structure than taste. All in all not one of my go to Beaujolais going forward, with so many great options available in this price point. One other bottle in cellar so we'll see how that is in 6 months or so.

  • Young Beaujolais Flight (SF Wine Trading Company): Light ruby. More somber black fruit aromas and palate. Lightly structured, tart, high acid. Some clay texture. Very typical, good quality wine from this more classic vintage.

  • Really tight and tannic when opened and after slow-ox'ing for a couple of hours. Really tasted more like tea than wine. Vacuvin'd and stored at room temp overnight and then allowed to breathe another hour or two the next day. This helped allow the fruit to emerge somewhat, but still quite an austere wine. Will need some time, but there is some promise that this will be very nice someday. Just not now or the near future.

  • Decanted for 1 hour, drank over 2 days.
Despite decanting, wine was still a bit tight. Just a hint of fruits, throw in some acidity, bit of herbs, minerals and very noticeable smokey, zesty, bitterness finish. Felt there's some concentration to the wine, med body, med finish. Day 2 much better with much more fruits that's nicely complemented by firm tannins, med to med+ body, med finish IMHO it needs bottle time. C$31 tax in, not sure if I'll revisit.
