Pop and pour. What a delicious bottle of wine. Powerful scents of orchard fruits and baked pear all wrapped in a delicious minerality. Outstanding stuff.

1st bottle from a half case bought en primeur. Served too cold at first and allowed to warm up in the glass. Big nose of vanilla, acacia and a cornucopia of exotic fruits. Beautifully balanced and full on the palate. Huge length and persistence of flavour on the finish. Drinking well now and will continue to improve.

Incredibly intense. See DrWine2001’s comments below. Still developing. Expect this to be excellent with time. Will hold other bottles for several more years.

Pale. I'll start at the end and say that this was a total waste to open at present. Right out of the bottle I got, well, nothing, and then in turn reduction, white grapefruit that seemed more like Sancerre than white Burgundy, and wood-very clumsy wood at that. It has some textural appeal, but even that is clipped in the end. I wouldn't dare touch another bottle for at least 5 or 6 years and then hope that it fleshes out and integrates.
Quite a bit better the second night. Still bracing, but the fruit had turned to a less aggressive lemony character, and while there was still noticeable wood, at least it was no longer just a hollowed out oak barrel. I wish I could have fast forwarded this 24 hours last night. I suppose the message is blame me and my poor timing rather than Sauzet.
