  • Starting to show some age now and into a yellow-gold color and with some apricot and marzipan on the nose. Also, some age starting to show on the palate, but still with enough freshness to keep it balanced for now. Apples with a little hazelnut in the mid-palate and some length to go well with wheat pasta dish having a pesto-based sauce. Still good, but seems like a drink now although it held up open for 2-3 hours easily so not a race to the bottom of the bottle for sure.

  • Mid yellow with flashes of gold, the aromas are classic P-M with mineral, oatmeal and intense stone fruits.
The entry is sweet peach flesh, pears and nectarine balanced by fresh, racy acidity. The wine delivers power and concentration, is broad-shouldered, rich with a fleshy fruit-filled core and extended finish that make it a delight to drink. In one way, expressive, it also feels compact and wonderfully knitted. A touch of spice sees the wine down the road.

  • Pale to mid straw. Ripe and powerful. Puts on a bit of extra weight with air. This isn't particularly subtle. Texturally quite chewy, lubricated by glycerin. Decent, but almost a little overdone. ****

  • As usual, the last bottle is the best. Time has deepened the flavor and the color to the point where I think it has reached full maturity from this early maturing vintage. Acidity is adequate. The intensely earthy character is perhaps even more prominent which is a positive for me, giving the wine a lot of character and personality. No hint of premox in any of these bottles.

  • Started a little hesitant to show itself for the first 30 minutes or so as it was too cool to show best. The floral nature came out by getting it closer to cellar temp. The clean crisp white fruit and minerality also came out more with air. I think this is better and has more potential that some might think. It isn't a full as the Champs Canet, but still very well made.
