rating is for night two, on night one it was tight, on night two it had smooth rich palate with plenty of mint / eucalyptus on nose and palate, tannins were soft and glycerin mouth feel, very nice bordeaux like wine, i'm frequently pleased with Melka's wines

A knockout California Cab. Wonderfully long finish with great balance between fruit and earth. Silky smooth mouth feel and pleasantly long finish. Not overly rich and extracted but well put together with an elegance I love to find in a place that seems to prefer punchy mouth bombs.

Opened by Anwar in Michigan for dinner. He and his wife drove over for the weekend so she could race in the South Haven Triathlon. Old world in style which is not surprising given the winemaker. Dark ruby red without much bricking in this 11 year old wine. Notes of dusty black fruit and charcoal. Moderate tannins. 90-91 points.

Very nearly the taste of being corked. It finally blew off, but I couldn't get it out of my head that this was a somewhat off bottle.
