  • Garnet to cranberry red. Smells like red fruits, minerals, graphite, cedar. Red fruits, lemon, tea, orange, spice. Really nicely aged at this point. Enjoyed it with turkey burgers.

  • A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color. A medium bodied red blend, with black cherry, plum, tar and licorice with a spice finish, time to drink up. www.winelx.com

  • Not sure what others are looking for from a $12 bottle of Rioja Reserva but I think this is an excellent bottle and typical Rioja. The wine has a deep red center with light red rim in the glass with a shy but pleasant nose, The tannins are just enough to keep the wine refreshing and inviting. Ready to drink now. The fruit is elegant but still enjoyable. This wine has excellent balance. For the price buy all you can to drink in the next year or two.

  • Final bottle of three. No idea what is going on with this wine. This bottle was simple, tired, and seemed relatively mature. Great weight in the mouth but limited structure. Profile leaned towards the Port fruits and spices. Perhaps a colder cellar will allow it to age more gracefully? "Good-to-very good," 85/100.

  • Good stuff.
This moves along the lines of typical middle-class Spanish reds: weight, intensity, depth.
    Oak, of course.
What elevates this wine above the average is some quite nice acidity which provides balance to all the tannins and heaviness.

So - no magic but a well-made and enjoyable red of the Spanish-heavy style.

The many gold medals etc should not be taken too seriously, but this is a good massive wine and for most people should be a more than decent purchase at 10 EUR.
