  Some nice Burgundies (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. I thought this was something like a German pinot noir or a post-modern producer of Burgundy, given the extreme amount of crunchy red fruit here. A little stemmy and tart, without the body of a "proper" Burgundy. I did successfully end up guessing that this was from some sort of adjunct appellation.

  Grenat color, very nice red fruit nose, extremely well balanced (straw)berry mouth, definitely fresher and more immediate than Cote de Nuits but 1er cru quality vinification. 1st time drinking a Coche red and quite impressed - especially noting the vintage. Have some Meursault Red from the same vintage and will be ordering in more reds in future years. The wife agrees
