Weekly tasting group #091; A fully blind test. (@ WW): Dark red. Ripe dark fruits in the bouquet. Same on the palate. Chocolate, sweet spices, tobacco, some sweetness and ok acidity. The wine is quite mature and definitely at its peak. Ok wine. Drink now or very soon.

Grey Bear annual get together at Sam's Lake House. We poured many wines, three that I brough - 1995 laPoint, slightly thin, with good mineral flavors, color and clarity were good, this wine really heald up well and was a enjoyable wine! Mondavi 2009 Cab - Fresh - good oak and fruit blend, this wine has become my favorite every day wine at $20 per bottle. 2003 StoneStreet Cab - still drinking well, this is a great wine at $30 that will last for 15 years or so. Good color and clarity, had nice fruit and after 10 minutes of breathing was drinking softly.

Drinking really nice right now. Good fruit, still some good acidity, tannins are nicely balanced.

Vegetal unripe on both the nose and palate. some unique dark red berry qualities, but nothing too special.
