Very dark red to purplish color. PNP, drank a couple glasses over 2.5 hours. 54% Merlot, 26% CS, 13% Malbec, 8% CF. Plenty of fruit coming forth on the nose, a mix of black and blue fruits, a little dried earth and wood with vanilla and a touch of menthol. The palate is just a little grapey to start, but seemd to pick up more nuance of wood spices, and dried earth along with the ripe blackberry, boysenberry, blueberries and tart black cherry that comes through more on the finish. Tannins are pretty soft and the texture israther plump and plush. This is still in good shape and should drink well for a couple years.

Day 1: Simple wine and the RHD has always been a disapointment compared to the Continuity for the most part. Celery, spice, forest floor, sour cherry and earth. Short to medium finish. Not as good as the last offering. 87 points Day 2: Getting better. Menthol, celery, damp leaves, spices and smoke. Not a lot of fruit showing through. Medium finish. 89 points

Tasted after a hour of air. Dark ruby color. Round red berry fruit with a hit of medium plus acid. Tannins are mild but acid more than makes up for them. Good balance. Good follow through on the mid palate. Good effort but not much complexity on this. Nice QPR.

12/16/2020 - jmcmchi Likes this wine:
Drunk over two days, improving with each glass
Maturing nicely with still some way to go.
Medium body, medium length, some smoke (in the good sense) wrapped round dark berries, nicely balanced with firm tannins
