  • The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle.
It smells like blackberry, raspberry, black currant (cassis), raisin and cherry. It tastes like blackberry, raspberry, black currant (cassis), raisin, cherry, coffee and chocolate. The body is medium/full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. Loved it. paired well with grilled rib-eye, twice baked potato, and grilled vegetables. Great with a square of dark chocolate after dinner. I would definitely buy again.

  • Aromas of carnations, incense, mint. Opened up within 30 minutes.

Tastes of bright fresh cherry juice fading to cedar, licorice, root beer
Good with a chill, great summer weekend brunello

  • There's a problem with this otherwise very pleasant bottle: it doesn't taste like Brunello or, indeed, like most Sangiovese. This is unashamedly a modern style (15.5 per cent alcohol). Over two days, there was scant evolution in the powerful, but one-note nose of turbo-charged kirsch, balsam, new wood, and strawberry jam - a trace of ink and new leather. Powerful, but, to be fair, not overcooked on the palate. Again, the fruit is expressive and very deep and very full on, but not especially subtle or, indeed, complex. Big, but reasonably well-managed tannins, make for a velvety mouthfeel. Don't get me wrong, this is a well-made wine, but it lacks both depth and soul. Reasonable value for money, and a decent expression of modern Brunello. Perhaps this will calm down a bit in 5 years or so.

  • Full bottle for dinner. Dark color, moderate nose. Strong tangy first taste, slight peppery finish. Hints of ripe cherries. Still young - give it 2-3 yrs.
