Follow up From a coravin bottle- wine is still all about structure than the full potential- muting the middle against walls those walls of structure. Dark fruits- check. Dark earth and minerals- check. Loads of structure - high acid with the substantial tannins just beginning to soften and round but only just the beginning. Hold for a min of 5-7 years before opening the next one. Good potential down the road. Nap time for now.
From a 375ml. PnP and then ~1hr in a glass. Wine is closed up tight with more red sour and black notes (think more cranberry than sweet cherry or unripe black currents vs blackberries) and with 8 years of age from a warmer vintage would have expected a bit more roundness in addition to a more giving wine… so… will this wine stay in its current state or blossom with time in the glass? HOLD and check back in 2028.

Opened this bit too early…seems closed down at the moment. Did open up the second day but still bit harsh. Certainly can see the quality of this wine but just needs more time. 91 points.

22.12.2023 - brought this our early Bday celebration at Akar TTDI. Uncorked at restaurant & decanted for 1.5hr. Nose; plum, red fruit, violet flowers, milk chocolate & licorice. Took some airing in the glass to open up more blue fruit & delicate cloves. Medium + acidity with opulent tannins considering such a young vintage. Palate; very refined & elegant with velvety structure & layers. Plenty of minerality & earthy notes at the finish
