Very good and hearty, but this old-world Bordeaux is missing much of the mid-palate and lacking some finesse. Black olives, burnt coffee, rosemarrie, charred oak and strawberry compote. Needs a full day of decanting, or consume a small amount and drink the remainder over the next several days. Probably at peak maturity right now; all should be consumed within the next 3 - 5 years.

Like being in the garden in the morning: rose, lavender, blueberry, raspberry, terracotta, cool dark earth, a hint of sea breeze. This very much makes the best of 2015 with perfect ripeness but not a hair out of place, powdery and aromatic. If drunk with something to match the tannin, this is perfect now in the charming flushes of its youth but its depth, balance, and persistence suggest a long, lovely future ahead. I’m tempted to raise the question of whether it’s the best St Pierre ever made but really, this is the beginning of an era - not the apogee of the estate’s potential.

This has a lovely nose of fresh fruit, dried herbs and tobacco. The 13.5% abv palate is nicely balanced, with a great depth of fruit, fine tannins that linger and dry out the finish just a bit, nice acidity, and a charred element (oak), which I don't find to be overdone. The finish is not long - maybe medium. This is best with a lot of air, but probably really is not ready. Give it 5-10+ years for best results. 92+

Decanted 2 hours - rich aromas of blackcurrant, tar, cedar wood and black pepper, lovely poised palate - rich fruit but restrained, good length and end. Tannins firm but not harsh. I’m guessing early days for this vintage. Beautiful.

Three hour decant. Bright toned black-garnet color. Pure black currant & blackberry aromas, with star anise, fresh lavender, clove, graphite, cedar, dark chocolate, hints of lavender. Fresh, succulent black fruit on the palate, with very well-integrated depth of five spice, tea, nutmeg, melted stone and tobacco, among others. Round and expansive throughout, medium-bodied in feel but gaining heft as it goes. Taut and sleek in structure, with integrated medium acidity and long fine tannins, finishing zesty and dry, with moderately long black fruit, minerals and savory spice. Youthful with very nice integration, drink/hold.
