Second bottle. First one was PnP and suffered from heavy brett. The second bottle sat for a multi-hour decant and the nose improved. It was best on the second day when the barnyard funk was mostly gone and the wine opened up - very nice on the palate with tertiary leather and earth notes, medium body and a fresh, round, lingering finish.

Single decant. Ruby with no apparent bricking. Intense nose of rose petal, forest floor, incense. Great balance of fruit (amazingly prominent after 26 years), acidity and tannins. Would have rated higher had the finish been longer. Drinking great now, but has plenty of life left. Drink or hold.

Pnp. It's magnificent. It's got the dusty cdp-ish nose that I love. Elegant. Really elegant and interesting. Complex. Just beautiful. It held up consistently over 2 hours. A beautiful wine. The glass made a difference with this

Opened night before, it was undrinkable when popped. But by dinner Saturday it had opened up into wonderfully complex old school earthy Bordeaux. Poured into four glasses and remainder into decanter before guests arrived.

Underneath a thick layer of TCA, the underlying fruit seemed to be in great shape; a pity.
