From half-bottle. Nuanced with laser-sharp precision. Saffron, spice, honey, bees wax, forest honey. Additionally layered with almonds, hazelnuts, apricot, candid grapes, quince. Every time you take a whiff you’ll find something new. A creamy texture, amazing texture and splash of fresh acidity. Spicy and long finish. Consistent to the palate, layer after layer on the palate. I’ve had this 4 times now since release in 2018 and simply can’t imagine how a Sauternes or in fact a sweet wine in general could be any better.

Tasted double blind from a half bottle. The wine's identity as a Sauternes of distinction was unmistakable. It showcased high complexity and a superb core of botrytis. The sweetness and laser-sharp acidity were in perfect harmony, creating a wonderful balance. Upon reveal, it was the 2015 Yquem, which was a bit of a surprise. My memory of this vintage was of a much denser wine, sometimes almost overwhelming in its youthful intensity. That's no longer the case; it has mellowed into a more balanced expression. However, it's evidently in a transitional phase, not quite as layered as it once was. I'd recommend holding off for another decade before opening another bottle. Despite this, it remains a great wine.
Decanting: Not decanted. I would give it at least an hournor two in the decanter.

Champagne Bookclub---bring a top shelf + a still: This was served blind, from 375. I appreciate Ramon bringing this and sharing it with the table. I don't typically care for dessert wines given the texture and sweet impression, but I have kinda warmed up lately to ratafia so maybe I will get there in time for the rest of the category. I will say that this 2015 is pretty delicious. It doesn't translate as heavy to me, which is part of my favorable connection to it. Nutty, honeycomb, apricot, pineapple, mango, hard lime candy. Really a delicious wine, am glad I got to try it.

Scored 98, though not clear what could have made it better. .375 ml bottle Deep gold color. Mind-blowing in concentration, length, purity, and balance. While concentrated and explosive, there are so many nuances in the aroma and taste. Ok, this is more of an ode than a tasting note. Two bottles left
