  • Intense, balanced. Definitely on the sweet side (only 8% alcohol) with depth and acidity. Served with Thanksgiving dinner. This is the first bottle I've opened of six, looking forward to the rest.

  • A really nice bottle of wine. Went okay with Christmas turkey, but really not quite sweet or dry enough to be perfect. Sort of in between for turkey. However, WS gave it 92 and we concur. Surprisingly light straw color. Young and fresh looking without any obvious oxidation signs. Nose of orange marmalade and muscat grapes. Perhaps very ripe nectarines. As I said, light (spatlese level) sweetness with orange, dried apricot and grapefruit flavors. Wife says she gets Smarties. Acidity is there but not obvious. I would perhaps look for just a tad more but the age is probably the main reason the acidity is not more prevalent. Good finish, longer than 45 seconds. Sweetness is not cloying, but I would drink this on the colder side rather than the warmer side. The oxidized/maderized type fruits become more prevalent as it warms and I prefer a little more of the citrus profile. All in all, very nice and worth drinking at any time. This bottle is drinking really well right now and I can only see more age contributing more muscat type (aged) flavors while muting the acidity. I think this would result in a lesser wine than it is today.
