Had this at the winery while on our Tuscany trip in Montepulciano.
This wine is so rich & stunningly viscous. Flavors like nothing I have ever had. It's not Y'quem, it's very different. It is MORE viscous. Sweet and rich through the finish with fig, and molasses dominating.

Tasted side by side with the 2000, and came away with the conclusion that trying to choose a favorite would be like picking a favorite child - they're both great, and uniquely different. Just peek into the appassitoio (drying room, huge) and look at the number of special barrels that they use to age this wine for 10 years (the most for a traditional vin santo that I'm aware of), and you know these guys are serious about their Vin Santo. No need to go into flavors descriptors, because if you're still reading this note, you're already a fan, so all you really need to know is buy it, but several. This is a gem. They both are. 12,5% abv., (fully resolved). very highly recommended
Served non-blind.
