  • This was a breathtaking bottle of Beaune Grèves from the Drouhin family. It is already very complex, revealing more and more as it rested in the glass. I decanted it about 2.5 hours before we sat down to eat, and I think that helped as it's still fairly young. This is a bottle that shows you what Burgundy can be without (totally) breaking the bank. I found it on sale for $69.99 at Zachy's a while back. It would compete with many pricier wines for sure. Dominique Lafon is a big fan of this vineyard, which 'smiles' down upon Beaune, and I know Veronique is, too.
