There's a surprisingly high amount of brownish hue to it. Mild, smoky, dusty. There's also honey and wax and typical barolo smoke and tar. Some tartness on the finish, but already drinkable. Rather lean overall.

Needs 30+ minutes to open. While a good fundamental Barolo I don't think I treated the wine fairly. We made a last minute decision on dinner and I grabbed it quickly. Therefore, no notes of meaning to share. Young but has promise for being a good Barolo but not a special Barolo based upon the current state of the bottle. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Gambero Rosso Singapore 2017. Sniff, sip, spit. Only impressions. Ripe red fruit with nice frim grippy high tannins. Concentrated and focused. Has the focus and clarity lacking in the regular Serralunga d'Alba bottling.
