Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 89 points

  • 2.5 years after the prior: this one struck us as excessively astringent and earthy, without the pleasant floral notes we recalled. Not friendly. After three nights, we corked it for a week. On reopening it had smoothed out considerably, and was more enjoyable.

  • Golden. Fresh and floral at first, and then deep and complex flavors emerged. Blind, we would have guessed this to be an oxidative savagnin, and a lovely one at that. Even after this overriding characteristic took hold, some floral aspects remained in the background. Very enjoyable in small pours over five nights -- and served just slightly chilled, not too much so.
