Pretty funky stuff. Kind of a saline quality to it. Others disagreed, but I couldn't help think of sardines every time I sampled this wine. Pretty good stuff overall, but certainly threw the palate a bit of a curve.

Offline with Chris Mullineux (Rotisserie Jules, London): 12.5% Served blind. A lovely nose - rich, creamy, sweet, slightly nutty, with a good minerality. Very interesting palate. Slightly oxidised. High acidity. There's a bit of a raisined feel to it. Savagnin? Jura? If it is, then it could be any age. I rather like it.

Tastes remarkably like a good Belgian Gueze. There are flavours of Persian melon and lime, and hints of passionfruit, guava and guanabana. One of my first tastes of white wine from this region. I like it very much. High very good (86.5).
