Dark ruby fading to a clear rim, with moderate plus viscosity and color staining legs. On the nose, if “black” had a smell, it is this wine. Aromas of tar, smoke, charcoal- not a ton of fruit on the nose. One the palate, the wine is dry, moderate plus acidity, moderate fine tannins, moderate alcohol, moderate body. Not a ton of fruit, but tart red fruit and dry blackberry notes. The meatiness, gaminess, black pepper, and forest floor scream Northern Rhone. No particular floral or spice characteristics jump out. Finish is medium minus. Decent QPR, doesn’t knock my socks off.

Earthy, vegetal nose of star anise, eucalyptus & tar, palate of black cherry, black currant, black pepper, lavender & vanilla bean, fine-grained tannins, medium-long finish.

Very much enjoyed this wine. Would like a bit mute structure and intensity, but it hit the right notes for me.
Tart red and blue fruit with a meaty, gamey back.
A certain almost acetic tart palate I find particularly in low intervention Rhone wines.
Very tasty, but a little underwhelming.

Full bodied rich Syrah. Very typical crozes.
