Decanted for 30 minutes after being in cellar at 55F for several months. Extremely dark, almost pitch black with some violet. Very little legs. Aroma is plum, smoked ham, and an interesting butter scent from the oak. Something about it reminds of being on the beach around the bonfire on a cool night.
Palate has blackberry, red cherries, dark chocolate, buttery brioche, and some spiciness from the french oak. Nothing over the top or too distinct but is very balanced and exceptional with food.
We threw together some improvised quesadillas with pulled chicken, shredded cheese, ham, and smoked habanero sauce that complimented the wine.
Overall, I would definitely drink this again. It has an average QPR at $21 USD.

Not bad with a cheese board .. unfortunately didn't get to finish the bottle and was dead a few days later when I tried it again.
