Dark color and bouquet. Dark berries, licorice, rustic, roast and asphalt. On the palate a firm wine with dark berries, a firm amount of acidity, tannin and sweetness. Lacks refinement, but is certainly an ok wine.

Fuller body than 2011. Tonnes of spices, some red fruits and mocca, this is rounded, fleshy but possibly a touch overdone on the oak. Balanced now, may be 2-3 y more to integrate all part better, not sure, but will keep my hands of from the label for some time.

Weekly tasting group RWP #296: A beautiful mix (@ RW): In the bouquet very ripe dark fruits, coffee, toast and oak. On the palate a mouth full of wine with very ripe blackberry juice, cherries, oak, and round tannin. See also my previous note.

A very good vintage for this 'amarone' styled mavrud. Balanced with lifted red berry aromas, the tannins need a good 2+ hrs of decanting to soften. There is a sweet note after all with this one, but it is the style of the brand not the vintage, hence will make it perfect match for foie gras and duck variations.

Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" Nov. 2017 Eastern Europe (@ RG): In the bouquet dark and red berries, tobacco, some green impressions and tea. On the palate ripe red and dark berries, firm acidity and sweetness. Leather, tobacco and chocolate. Reminds a bit of Amarone style.
