  • 2001 Hospices de Beaune Beaune 1er Cru Cuvée Cyrot-Chaudron Jean-Philippe Marchand

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru

Mature and still beautiful bouquet with earth, tea and autumn impressions. On the palate still some red berries, earth, firm acidity and tannin which is mature, but still has some bite. On the palate also some tea and autumn impressions. Opinions differed about this wine. Some thought it was a bit too old. I liked it, but I don’t score it.

  • 2016 Jean-François Neyroud-Fonjallaz Pinot Noir

    Switzerland, Vaud, Lavaux, Chardonne

In the bouquet a mixture of cherries, red berries like strawberries and roses. Also some herbs. On the palate a juicy wine with red berries, some metal and ok acidity. A bit like lemonade. Not my style. No score.

  • 1995 Château Marbuzet 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe

In the bouquet a lot of green bell pepper/cabernet impressions, good oak and chocolate as well. On the palate juicy red and dark berries, chocolate, well integrated oak and a firm amount of beautiful acidity. Overall a mature and beautiful, elegant wine. No need to wait any longer.

  • 2000 Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux 93 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Very beautiful and luxurious bouquet with smoke, oak, cedar and dark berries. On the palate the same impressions as in the nose; juicy dark berries, firm and good acidity and beautifully round tannin. The wine really improved with some more air. Imho this wine is still a bit too young to show all its finesse and complexity. Wait until 2022? 93+ for tonight.

Flight 6 (1 Note)

  • 1979 Château La Mission Haut-Brion 93 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Very mature, but still very complex and beautiful bouquet with oak, cedar and horse stable. On the palate chocolate, graphite and still some dark berries. Mature, but a beautiful and complex wine. Great to taste this! Has probably been a bit better when it was a few years younger, but tonight I still score the wine 93.

Flight 7 (1 Note)

  • 2015 Château Montlandrie 90 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

This wine is still a baby. In the bouquet beautifully ripe red and black berries. Same on the palate, beautiful acidity and round tannin. Lacking complexity in this stage. I would like to taste the wine again around 2024 or even a bit later. For now 90+
