This 100% Verdicchio is showing beautifully at 7 years, with many more in its future. Med. yellow with a green core and a gold hue. The nose is clean, with pronounced aromas of white flowers, green apple, ripe lemon, green herbs and toasted almonds. Dry, with med + to high acidity and alcohol (14%). It sees no oak, but spends 14 mos. on the lees, which contribute to its pronounced flavor intensity and creaminess. Full-bodied, with a med (+) to long finish. One of the top non-VT Verdicchio I have tried.

100% Verdicchio which, after five years, is starting to show a little age. Med yellow with a gold hue. The nose is reductive (cabbage), but aromas of white flowers, apple, lime, stone fruit and almonds peek through. This wine sees no oak, but does spend 14 months on the lees, in stainless steel. The palate is dry, with med to med + acidity, med alcohol and really nice med (+) flavor intensity. Still, given the nose and the extra three years, this is not as pleasing right now as this producers's Classico Superiore.

Indigena World Tour Day 3: The Marche (Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, NYC): Everything I liked in #2 (2016 Barone Pizzini Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Pievalta) pushed too far. Too oaky. Too intense.

Vibrant acidity, good balance, light citrus fruit rather than almonds etc, understated
