opening with a hint of petrol but it blew off to reveal a stony, chalky nose with a ripe, citrus driven palate. rich, already quite complex - this should age into an excellent example of the style.

Rudi Wiest Tasting (Republique Los Angeles): More aromatically driven than the Haart wines, and a little milder in the acidity and salinity on the palate. Nevertheless, still very vibrant. Slightly less aromatically complex than the Ganz Horn and the Kastanienbusch.

Tasted after "Ganz Horn", this is less warm, floral and expressive on the nose. More mineral and chalky. More precision and intensity on the palate. Long. 91-92+
