Nose quite restrained, barnyard and herbs (thyme and rosemary), roast notes and dark fruit (blackberry). Barnyard on the palate as well, creamy texture, with strawberry, cherry and vanilla. Long lingering fruity finish, always well balanced by the herbal notes and the acidity.

Another example of good German Pinot. Much higher hit rate than Burgundy counterparts.

A private dinner (Restaurant Vermeer *, Amsterdam, NL): Toasty oak, black fruit and spice, ripe and fresh, medium body, slightly burnt finish.

Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2019-04; Spätburgunder (By RvD): Fresh red berries like strawberries, cherries, rose hips and pleasant oak in the bouquet. On the palate the same juicy fruits, herbs, toast, firm acidity and slightly sticky tannin. Good length.

Académie des Cinquante Baden Tasting (Restaurant De Scheepskameel, Amsterdam, NL): Not an easy wine to assess, quite tannic, slightly toasty, hint of cabbage, drying, not sure that this is correct. Not rated.
